An immigrant and an online sex worker get to know one another over the course of one night in New York. But each has a secret that threatens to ruin what starts off as flirtation and slowly develops into something more.

ARTISTIC STATEMENT
Daniel wants to find himself in New York, but yearns for his native Colombia. Mark has found limited success performing as an online sex worker, but his dream is to direct opera at the Met. Neither feels comfortable with who he is. But they find comfort with one another. However, as the relationship develops over the course of one night in New York, the two find that their expectations don’t cohere either. As with our first two movies, characters are constantly navigating their identities, trying to create new ones despite being tied to those imposed on them by others. Moreover, our identities are also challenged constantly by our responsibilities for other people’s feelings, which provides the central conflict for Mark and Daniel’s relationship.​​

Nota de Intención
Muerte en los Cedros intenta explorar el dilema entre el individual y el colectivo a partir de Melissa, un personaje abandonado y solo. Un personaje con una fuerza moral intachable pero también vulnerable emocionalmente gracias al vacío que genera la soledad. Decidimos explorar ese conflicto interno a raíz de un film noir en el que todos los personajes, en cierta forma, se encuentran frente a conflictos que ponen en peligro la unidad de sus familias.
